HestOS vs Equicty: Stable Management Software Compared

If you are looking for an Equicty alternative, compare how each product supports the routines, people and facilities in your stable. HestOS combines field and walker planning, shared team access and a route to custom development through Partner. Here is what that means when choosing horse farm management software.

Custom development we’ve delivered

HestOS Partner includes two development hours each month for agreed custom work.

  • Google Calendar syncWe’ve connected clients’ planning workflows with Google Calendar.
  • One-button WhatsApp photo sharingWe built a button for sharing photos to WhatsApp directly from a client’s workflow.
  • Existing booking-system integrationWe’ve connected a client’s existing booking system with their wider workflow.

Those hours cover discovery, implementation and testing. An integration or workflow adjustment can be considered within that allowance after we check feasibility and agree the scope and timing. Larger requests and work beyond the included hours are quoted separately; Stable and Team development is also quoted separately.

These projects show how HestOS can work alongside the tools a stable already uses. For your request, we agree the required behavior, third-party access, work involved and delivery schedule in advance. The monthly allowance provides time for ongoing improvements, with larger integrations scoped and quoted separately.

Equicty documents website and horse-data integrations. Its reviewed public plans do not specify a monthly custom-development allowance. Ask each provider to distinguish existing connectors, configuration and engineering work before comparing proposals.

AI assistance: compare the workflow after the suggestion

HestOS includes AI-assisted stable setup and recurring-task drafts in every plan, with daily usage limits. Describe a routine, review the proposed details and preview the dates before confirming creation. Manual setup remains available. This is useful when a manager wants help entering a repeatable schedule while retaining the final decision.

Equicty offers Hoofy AI. Its beta description says it answers questions using stable data and internet sources, while proposed tasks currently require manual entry. HestOS’s reviewed task-creation flow is worth testing if turning a described routine into a saved schedule is your priority.

In a demo, try the same real routine in both products. Check the proposed horse, responsible person, frequency and dates, then follow it through to the saved plan. Keep the decision about a horse’s care with the responsible people and qualified professionals.

Plan fields and horse walkers around available space

HestOS lets you configure field and walker areas, capacities and time slots, then allocate horses in shared planning grids. The team can see the plan alongside available places. This makes turnout planning and horse walker scheduling visible parts of the working day.

Bring your actual layout to the demo: the areas you use, their capacities and the way sessions change between days. If another amenity needs a different workflow, describe it so we can establish whether the existing tools fit or custom work is needed.

Equicty documents configurable activity dashboards, task sets, recurring work and maintenance planning. Test your particular facility-allocation requirements in each product rather than assuming similarly named scheduling tools behave identically.

A shared screen with individual team access

On a HestOS stable screen, each team member uses a personal PIN to open the app with their usual permissions. They can check tasks, horses, feeding plans, fields and walkers without needing their own phone. Hardware is separate from the subscription, and the screen needs an internet connection.

Equicty’s 32-inch Smart Stable Board supports planning and access to activity history. Compare how each screen fits your working area and how staff identify themselves, access their tasks and record an outcome.

Follow a feeding plan through to its recorded outcome

In HestOS, a feeding plan holds feed items, quantities, units, instructions, times and an assignment. Staff record Given or Skipped, with a reason required for a skipped feeding. The history preserves the person, recording time and plan instructions associated with the entry.

Equicty’s nutrition add-on documents individual feeding plans and feeding history. During a comparison, ask both providers to demonstrate a changed instruction and a skipped feeding, including what the next shift can see.

Compare the complete plan for your stable

HestOS plans have published allowances for horses, team accounts and shared screen accounts, with priced extras. Partner’s two development hours are part of that plan; they are not included in every subscription. Physical screens are purchased separately. Use the current pricing page to calculate the setup your team actually needs.

Equstable lists unlimited users, configurable pricing and a public API option. Those are meaningful strengths to consider. Request equivalent quotes covering your horse count, people, hardware, required modules and any integration work, with tax and billing commitments clearly stated.

Choose with your own working day in front of you

Put HestOS on your shortlist if you want shared daily operations, explicit field and walker planning, AI drafts you review before creation and a route to agreed custom development through Partner. Bring one awkward routine or integration requirement to the conversation: that is where the fit becomes concrete.

Use the same examples when evaluating Equicty. Choose the product whose demonstrated workflow and full proposal fit your stable, rather than the longest feature list.

A few things to take with you

  • Plan a field or walker session using your actual capacity.
  • Review and save a recurring task, then change its assignment.
  • Record a skipped feeding and inspect the handover history.
  • Check what a team member can access on a shared screen.
  • Agree the scope, cost and timing of any custom integration.
